2006 NHCC Junior Racing Thursday Night Series Rules
In the interest of safety, we have instilled a framework of rules and regulations. The rules
proposed here are in addition to the general rules and regulations for the Thursday Night NHIS
event.
-
A responsible adult must accompany every junior under age 14 and younger to each
event at the track. The responsible adult must sign a release before the junior can
participate in the event.
-
For juniors 14 and over a responsible adult may sign a series release.
-
Juniors will sign in at each clinic and report to coach
-
Juniors shall provide their own drinks, food, and nutritional supplements.
-
Juniors are encouraged to attend post-race team meetings.
-
If for any reason no EMT is available at NHIS, the clinic will not start.
-
If for any reason the EMTs on duty have to leave, the clinic will be stopped.
-
Every junior shall sign and abide by the "Junior Rider Agreement" (JRA).
-
Every junior shall obtain an USCF racing license, either for a single day or an entire
season.
-
Juniors shall never be on the track without the supervision of a coach or assistant coach
assigned by the junior race coordinators.
-
No junior shall ever ride unaccompanied on the track
-
An exception to this rule shall be made if the junior is cleared to compete in
the senior training races.
-
The supervising coach has the right to eject a rider at any time. If a junior is ejected,
he or she is to leave the track for the infield area immediately and without discussion.
-
A reason and understanding will be provided after the completion of the clinic,
so that the situation will not re-occur.
-
If a junior arrives late, he or she is allowed to join the clinic in progress, if the
adult racing at the track has not started. The junior should wait in the pit-lane exit to
join in a safe manner.
-
In this case, the junior shall not be allowed to compete for championship points
unless the coach makes an exception.
-
The coach may enlist an assistant coach.
-
After any event on the track that splits the pack of juniors, all juniors shall regroup
and join the coach.
-
In case of a mechanical the junior shall proceed to the infield as soon as
possible, yielding to all others on the track.
-
The juniors shall only ride in the same direction as the seniors (counter
clockwise direction) on the track.
-
Monthly sessions by a professional coach are available to NHCC Junior Racing; in the case
that a junior member can not attend please inform the coordinators as soon as
possible, and no later than 24 hours before, each session.
